Bridget-Michaele Reischl is celebrating her 8th year with the GBSO.  The first American to win the Antonio Pedrotti International Conducting Competition in 1995, Ms. Reischl's international career has included engagements with many orchestras throughout the United States and Europe.   She also serves as Music Director of the Oberlin Orchestras at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a post she has held since 2005.   Having recently completed a concert tour of China, this year she will take the Oberlin Orchestra to Los Angeles in January to perform on the Los Angeles Philharmonic's concert series, "Sounds About Town".  In addition to guest conducting the Cobb Symphony in Atlanta this Fall, she will return to Arezzo, Italy in June to conduct Puccini's La Rondine.   Her Telarc recording of Debussy and Takemitsu with internationally acclaimed harpist, Yolanda Kondonassis, was recently released in October of this year.  Ms. Reischl has also recorded on the following labels: Velut Luna, CRI, and Sea Breeze Record Company.  A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and a student of Robert Spano, Ms. Reischl continued her studies as a conducting fellow at both the Tanglewood and Aspen Music Festivals, working with Seiji Ozawa, Simon Rattle, David Zinman, and Murry Sidlin.
